Today woke up at 5AM for a sunrise boat ride and snorkeling. It was calm and serene sailing out into the sunrise, and watching the whole landscape turn from dark to pinkish light. We sailed for 45 minutes or so until jumping off to snorkel at a nearby beach. I personally had more fun snorkeling yesterday, because today I saw less fish and the water was more murky. We only snorkelled for 20 mins or so because a lot of people were (1) sea sick (2) didn't know how to swim (3) being stung by tons of harmless jellyfish. I was part of the ones who got zapped a few times, but the jellyfish are unavoidable cause they're everywhere: they looked like super tiny bright blue specks. After sailing back, we all had to check out of the bungalows and hung out at a cafe in Amed until the buses picked us up at 4. The drive was long and winding with lots of traffic--apparently Amed is only 38 miles away but it took us almost 4 hours to get back to Ubud! Once back, I headed to a local cafe to grab some tea and dropped by the drug store to get some cold medicine and aloe for my sunburn--I think I'm catching a pretty bad cold, as I have a sore throat and runny nose. Hopefully it goes away soon, because I have class tomorrow at 9!
