If I were to die today, I would die a happy man mainly because of Green Island... oh and family, friends, co-workers, etc.
I now know that Planet Earth footage is actually real. I got to go snorkeling for the first time in my life. Wow! The colorful fish and the coral reefs were breathtaking. I now know to bring lots of bread when snorkeling. The tour guide brought some but I know why my American and Canadian friends took so much bread from the restaurant the night before.
Like I mentioned I met a few North Americans who teach just outside of Taipei. They taught me some new Taiwanese drinking games which will be fun to bring home to play with friends. I even got to play "shay-sha-sha-she-sha-shwa" with a local and I kicked his ass! I was told I represented Canada well so you can all be proud of me.
Looking back now I thought the flight there was a little scary because I have never seen a smaller landing pad in my life. We were high in the air and within 45 seconds, the pilot had the brakes going. The ferry on the way back was a little worse, 45 minutes up and down over the waves. My stomach was going crazy but not as bad as the others who were puking. And the worst part of all, there was a TV showing game 3 of the Tigers vs. Yankees and we had to get off the boat with 2 outs in the top of the 9th inning with the Tigers up 5-4. Humphrey, did your Tigers win?
Last but not least, just so I don't forget I want to list the wildlife I got to see so I don't forget. Bambi-like deer mouton goats, frogs, snakes, geckos, lizards, grasshoppers, crabs, lil' Nemo and his friends, cattle, hermit crabs and huge spiders that sneak up on you, absolutely terrifying!
