Having gone to the tourist office to arrange travel to Kou Tau for Christmas and our SCUBA diving course on the 26th Dec, we were dismayed to hear that it would take a bus, boat, long waits and a taxi! - Approx 14 hours all in all.

If we then wanted to head to Malaysia, rather then return to Bangkok, it would take another 24 hours :(

So, after a quick discussion and a little breakfast (one thinks more clearly with sustenance right?!) we decided to cancel our Scuba diving.

Thursday 22nd Dec then became a planning day where we spent a good 6 hours in all researching and booking transportation, hotels and a new SCUBA diving course in Phuket.

With both Rob and I not wishing to
experience another long day of travel (the next few travel days would be even more complicated and longer) we elected to fly (YIPEEEEE!).

So, today =

1) Flight from Bangkok to Phuket booked - check
2) Flight from Phuket to Penang booked - check
3) Hotel in Phuket for 2 nights booked - check
4) Hotel in Penang booked - check
5) Scuba diving booked - check

Whilst we didn't do any site seeing today it was a day well spent as transportation and hotels are all booked up we discovered and it was great to know we had plans sorted until the New Year.

So, our ideal of Christmas in one country and New Years in another is now confirmed :0

After dinner and a walk we then went and got a great massage. 1 hour of massage and reflexology on my feet and legs and 30 mins feet/30 mins back massage for Rob.

Our hotel room we discovered doesn't have HBO (bah) so I read a bit and then hit the sack.
