This is what I left behind in rio, but the place i've been for the past few days really is paridise. It's a little colonial fishing village called Paraty, and it's south of Rio on what's known as the emerald coast. The rainforest comes all the way down to the ocean and there are literally thousands of tiny islands and secluded beaches. Spent yesterday sailing around sampling a few of them. Today was much more entertaining, I spent 6 hours on the oldest saddes...

Have met some really nice people. We got involved in a local party on the way home one night and got completely covered in foam and bubles. Have doen all the typical tourist stuff now and will be quite glad to leave the city tomorrow and get out in the countryside.

Went to see this big guy yesterday (and Katie I got a picy of his toe for you, i'll send soon) Yesterday was a full day of tourist stuff. Going up throught the forest in Corcovada to see this statue in the morning. Cablecars up sugarloaf mountain in the afternoon for some of the most amazing views ever. Then the scectacle that is the sambarome in the evening. Twas a very long day so i might just have to laze on Copacobana beach for a few hours this afternoon.

Heading off tomorrow, spent yesterday onthe beach throwing stones and enjoying the view.

Just at home packing up, getting ready to fly out on the 17th Feb.
