I had a walk up to the Thermal valley on Saturday ( in the rain) and got up close to this geyser. My photos aren't quite this clear but they're still pretty cool. Just before I headed back to Auckland this afternnon I managed to fit in a bit more white water rafting. This one was a grade 5 and included a 7m drop over a waterfall. Apparently it's the highest commercially ratfted drop anywhere in the world. Not quite sure how i'm going to follow that one. ...

The last couple of days have been really stormy so I had to abandon my plans for snowboarding and sky diving and stick closer to the ground. Had a walk out to the Huka falls and the craters of the moon. Have been staying at an amazing hostel complete with suana so I spent a few hours just lazing there last night. Heading up to Rotarua this afternoon for a bit more steam and some geysers.

Heading back to Aucland this afternoon, sun has been shining for two days. Lovely

I'm told that somewhere through the hail storm and behind the mist and maybe slightly to the right, this si what Auckland looks like. Arived yesterday morning after a really long flight and just mooched around trying to make plans for the next two weeks. Looks like I won't be skiing afterall so I already need to do a bit of replanning. Getting out of the city on Wednesday and heading up to the Bay fo Islands. Hopefully i can get back to doing some outdoorst...
