Hi Everyone
We decided to put Cordoba city off for now and go an hour down the road to Carlos Paz. Its a mini Las Vegas, has a hotel in the shape of a pyramid, mini tourist train and its pride and joy is a cookoo clock in the middle of town. But the reason we´ve come here is that a friend of our Spanish teacher (hi Rosa) lives here and we are able to visit here.
I think we´ve learnt more Spanish today than in a month of lessons, and our brains hurt from thinking so much- its exhausting always listening and then translating in your head, then thinking of a response, then translating.
Tomorrow we might go trekking or canoeing- there is a lake here. Today was so hot- if its that hot tomorrow we could swim all day.
There is muchless English spoken here than in the big city, so we´ll have to sink or swim. We´re absolutely exhausted from the Spanish living as well. Staying up late is fine if you actually sleep during siesta time.
The buses give you much more room than the ones at home, but we have yet to go first class, which I think we will do next time to make sure we get sleep. The seats almost go completely flat, and in first class they do.
We´ll write again soon. Love BJ and Dave
Well Carlos Paz is the best place we've been to so far on this trip. There were a few rainy days, but that was good for just speaking some spanish, and watching (english) movies.
We did a tour up in the mountains one day. t was foggy and rainy, but we had fun and met some people. Did a flying fox thingy- not sure what its called but you can see what it is from the photos. Also saw some nice water falls.
Some other things we did was went to the lake, tractor museum and climbed the mountain above the town, but we don't have any photos of those- and thats another story.
