Hello everyone from Singapore.
Well we could nearly be in Brissy here- everyone speaks English, they drive on the left, plenty of Asians....its just a little bit more tropical than Brissy, rains every day.
Singapore is the home of shopping unfortunately, and to top it off we're not very cashed up being at the end of our trip and having just come from Europe where our dollar has become even worse in recent weeks. But we did by little laptops that we have been seeing alot of backpackers travelling with. We shopped around alot.
Food wise its not worth cooking yourself, because for $3.50, you can get any asian food you've ever heard of, from the hawker centres. You just need to try to pick a meal without chilli.
The highlight was actually Singapore zoo, and likewise the highlight of that was the night safari. Best animal was the clouded leopard- he hid in the darkest part of his enclosure, where nobody could see him, and when all the noisy tourists had given up, he came out and paraded around the enclosure, where the 2 of us were standing very still and quiet.
We were really just here to break up the mammoth flight from Europe home, but this is a great city, and feels very safe, everything works perfectly and on time, would recommend it to anyone who is skeptical about Asia. Next stop is home- yay, and we're going with Singapore Air again, which is great service.
See you there.
