Alright!!
So lets see I left off last time in Auckland. The Tuesday we decided to go up the Sky Tower as we'd been saying to the last 2 weeks we were going to. WOW amazing views, we could see One Tree Hill that we'd visited before, there are glass panels on the floor you can stand on a little freaky nothing after jumping out of a plane!!! You can do the Sky walk where you go outside and walk around the edge of the building, or you can do the sky jump!!! where yes you literally jump off the top of the building, in one of the pic we are looking up and you can see the 2 quide lines that run either side of you when you jump, we didn't do this though!!!
Wednesday BORING we did washing and packed ready for our travels the next day.
Thursday we got up bright and early and sorted our last bits and pieces off and headed for the train station only 2 mins down the road from the house. We got into town and met up with Julia and said our goodbyes and thank-yous. We waited around for a so called Super Shuttle!!! they were 30 mins late!!! It's not like we had a plane to catch or anything!!! Anyhoo we made it to the airport on time, caught our flight to Wellington which looks like a nice place we didn't stay though. We had a ferry to catch, we were also starving by the time we got there so we grabbed a fish and chips on the ferry then headed for a comfy seat, we saw an amazing sunset, then the last bit is through the Sounds which are beautiful mountains running upto the sea adge shame we didn't stay in Picton to do a tour of them as it was dark when we came in but it was a full moon which was sooo bright you could make out the outlines. We got to Picton and set up camp for the night, there was a crazy couplr trying to get a free nights accomodation in our place, they said they'd lost there wallets but they had managed to get steaming drunk on the ferry?!?!? go figure!!
So we got up the next day and had a walk around Picton, it really is tiny. There is a main road that's about it, oh and the harbour. There are walks you can go on through the Sounds which would have been really pretty but we didn't have time, we had a train to catch!!! So we got on the Train to Christchurch which would take about 5 and a half hours. We were sat opposite an American couple on Honeymoon they said there had been trying to fit in as much as possible and were starting to get fed up on early starts. There is an observation carraige at the back of the train, it's very windy there and tres funny as the train is less than stable you get thrown around all over the place it was so funny watching people trying to stand or walking up and down the train.
When we got to Christchurch we got a taxi to our hostel which is a converted Jail!!! It's very cold and we're sleeping in a cell, but its locked by ourselves and not someone on the outside!! We're abit far out of town so we had an early night.
Up bright and early and it was a hot day at last!!! We walked into town, which seemed weird as I text Sarah and she knew exactly where I was (she is from there!!). We went into the Art gallery and the museum not that we paid much attention to be honest think we were feeling a little childish that day!! Christchurch is really pretty, there were loads of baby ducks and you could go punting on the river, there was a market and there alot of craft shops, the Kiwi's appear to be very creative people!!!
Today we got on a bus tres early, 7:45am to be exact. Heading to Dunedin just because I want to see Penguins. We got into town earlish so we've had a walk around, bought stuff for dinner, eaten dinner and now I'm writing to you guys!!! We're going to the cinema tonight and going to see the penguins tomorrow, we should hopefully see some Albatross and seals too!!
Hope everyone back home is well.
Love to all.
