Deb & Ju's Travels
Hi all
Ha, ha, I just read the last postcard to see where the last update ended and I believe it was Debbie declaring that she was never drinking again...........
Anyhow, to go in order this is what we have been up to:
We did stay in and watch dvd's our first night in Taupo as we had an early rising the next morning (17th March) to do our skydive. Deb and I headed off down the airfield for an 8am jump out of a plane. We got all kitted up ready to go and met our tandem skydivers, Andy and Freddie who put us at ease. Unfortunately the weather got quite cloudy and wet so we couldn't go ahead, so we rescheduled for the next morning at 11.30am. As our day was free we took ourselves down the beauticians for a few relaxing treatments.
Being St Patricks day we had to go out in the evening, so Deb, Anna and me hit the pubs in Taupo (which is why I was laughing earlier). We had a really good night in a couple of irish pubs, got adequately slaughtered and then staggered home.
The next morning Anna left to head off to Auckland and Deb and I decided that the thought of throwing ourselves out of a plane at 15,000ft was not a good idea thanks to the alcohol intake of the previous night. Needless to say we spent the day nursing our hangovers by chilling out.
19th March - we got up and headed down the airfield to do our skydive. It was such a gorgeous day that we definitely knew it would go head. We got all kitted out and met our tandem skydivers again. Deb skydived with Greg and I still had Freddie. Well what can we say, it was the most amazing experience ever. Every time I think about it I just smile and get an amazing feeling and if any of you have seen the pictures we emailed you will kind of understand why. We have dvd's to entertain you with when we get home as well!
In the afternoon we headed off towards the Bay of Islands and stayed in Whangarei. The next morning we carried on our journey to Bay of Islands and stopped in a small town called Pahia to have some lunch and a walk around. We then got back in the car and drove all the way back down to Auckland where we now are until we catch our flight to Fiji in the morning. Yipee suntans here we come!
As you will have noticed we have had no luck in finding anywhere to put on the photos, and we are doubting that Fiji will have anywhere for us to do it either. Therefore if we get a chance we will put all the pics on in LA, alternatively you will have to wait until we get home, which is 2 weeks tomorrow (5th April) :-(
Love Ju and Deb xx
