Today, we went to go find Dotty on the Potty...just a few blocks away from Joanie on the Pony. Dotty is on a corner, not quite the square...but we paid our respect and photos are included. It was our last Backroads day and Clarissa decided to wake up early for one last bike ride! Nuts!!! The rest of us laid in bed for the extra hour, resting our aching muscles. Clarissa came pedaling in around 9am with her exercise checked off for the day. We visited Clos de Luce where Da Vinci stayed and saw many of his inventions... then we hopped on a bus for Tours and what became the most exciting part of the day - the rental car, the manual - stick shift ...

Well it was the last full day for a bike ride... we thought after the long ride yesterday, we would go a little lighter today. No, Clarissa was eager to do the long ride, Trish was game, Shauna and I tried to keep up and Shauna was much better than I. Extra, extra read all about it - we all biked 45 miles today!!! We started in the fog and biked 20 miles in the morning across the line of demarcation to Chateau Chenonceaux, the home built by the ladies, for the ladies, with a story of the past that could mirror the French President today... and it is home to at least 26 cats! We had a great tour and lunch and then the decision, I will say prompted by Clarissa, was go the long way home... so we did and added...

Well, we put another 30 miles in the tank as started the morning biking up a hill, through the woods, to a castle with a moat. We were all quite pleased with that! The photo in front is in front of a smaller castle where we stopped for the tour. I will upload more photos so you can see the other places we visited. I think we are catching onto the biking and are peeking at a longer ride tomorrow. We'll see - which usually means no.
