It was our last Backroads day and Clarissa decided to wake up early for one last bike ride! Nuts!!! The rest of us laid in bed for the extra hour, resting our aching muscles. Clarissa came pedaling in around 9am with her exercise checked off for the day.
We visited Clos de Luce where Da Vinci stayed and saw many of his inventions... then we hopped on a bus for Tours and what became the most exciting part of the day - the rental car, the manual - stick shift rental car, with the French speaking navigation system. We all hopped into the weirdest box car, after Trish found it in the lot. And then I stalled the car in place as I remembered how to drive a stick shift. We then took off to Orleans and landed on a toll road! Clarissa helped us maneuver that one and we made it to Orleans and parked hear the hotel.
We have two lovely adjoining rooms on the 4th floor... oh did I forget to mention, no lift. Clarissa left her bag at the desk. Shauna and I carried Trish's bag up and we all made it up...
we toured Orleans and headed to the house where Mom lived, calling her from out front... we looked for the rug that fell, dodged the new trolley and the found Joanie on the Pony. We know which street houses Dotty on the Potty, but will do that in the morning... more soon and check out the photos
