Looks like i havent written in a while! Well Phnom Penh was good, i saw s-21, the notorious prison of the Khmer Rouge which now holds the genocide museum and the killing fields both of which were moving and horrendous. I walked around the city, to Wat Phnom, the temple the vcity is named after and the independence monument and all along the riverside. It rains at half 3 every day so my afternoons usually involved a cafe and a book. The evenings were good, exploring the nigt market and te night life with some of the girls i met on the bus. I have been in Siem Reap for 4 days now, one day wandering aroundd, seeing how extreme wealth lives side by side with extreme poverty, the local houses next to the western 5* hotels. Had a 3 day pass for Angkor Wat which was pretty amazing. Angkor wat is a lost city, consisting of 200k of temples and citadels all lost to the jungle and some partially restored. We saw the famous Angkor Wat, the largest religious building over todays sunrise(up at 4.30am!), and Angkor Thom which is 3km long and 3k wide, as wel as the temple that Lara Croft is filmed in, which has trees growing on top of the walls, spreading their roots down. some of the buildings seem in better shape than others but most of the statues are missing their heads thanks to the iconocalstic Khmer Rouge. Managed to take over 200 hotos of Angkor which im sure you will want to see all of! Tonigt i am out then on to Sihanoukville at 6 am!
