After checking out of my hostel in Cairns at the crack of dawn I waited to be picked up to do my skydive. The weather was pants and it did not look hopefull and sure enough someone turned up to tell us it had been cancelled.

I (as well as a few other people waiting) had already booked accomodation in Mission Beach for the night so somehow needed to get there as the skydive company would not take us. I managed to book a space on the greyhound bus and arrived in Mission Beach later that afternoon. I arrived at my hostel and went to have a look at the beach, it was grey, windy and raining and there really did not seem a lot to do. I was glad I was only spending 1 night here. After a couple of beers I was ready for bed and for my next trip to Townsville and Magnetic Island the following day.
