Another good nights sleep in Stirling then decided to catch train to Perth for a wander before going back to Glasgow. Unfortunately due to staff shortages only a few trains were running so after going thru all options including walking to bus station and asking taxi drivers for costs i decided to just go to Glasgow. So i had to hop on a bus to go to Croy unfortunately the bus driver, who was just there to pick up stranded train travellers, didnt know the way so we had a beautiful journey through lovely little scottish villages and countryside. He only got lost once and stopped a couple of times to get directions. Then caught the train to Glasgow. Sat next to the toilet which was the funnist thing as the people who got in couldnt get out, the people who wanted to get in couldnt and then if you were in there doing your business the door would open. What a beautiful and funny morning. Anyway finally got to Glasgow and had a bite to eat then heard the drums and bagpipe so wandered up the hill to listen to Clanadonia and watch the swishing of the highland plaid. Could had stayed all day but they had to leave as numerous pipebands came towards us. There were no bagpipes but piano accordions? Finally caught a taxi to Neils place. What a ride of hell! Think the driver was 103 and it felt like i was in an old pickup truck. He drove like a maniac and i think fell asleep at the traffic lights. I had to keep telling him that the lights had turned green! He stopped a taxi coming the other way to ask how to get to the address. Anyway made it in one piece. Had fish chips and mushy peas for tea. Went to church with Iain in the morning which was the highlight of my trip to Scotland. Lit candles for Mum Dad Gary and Bob. Lraving for Venice at 3 in the morning.
