I missed Bangkok. Walking down Koh San road didn't look the same without all the water and flour like it was when Will and I walked through when it was their water festival; the hustle and bustle, however, was still surrounding the streets and it felt great! We made the most of our day there with an early start to the famous floating market, an hour and a half away, called Damnem Saduak. We then spent the afternoon chilling with Sam who we had bumped into co-incidentally. We ended our evening beside a rooftop swimming pool with the view of Bangkok lit up (making the golden palace stand out from miles away) and a chang in hand.

Another early morning and we were off on our flight to Krabi (kind of cheating in the traveller's world). I was excited, even though I was told the weather was going to be somewhat miserable, I couldn't wait! From Krabi airport, after a very bumpy and scary flight, we headed straight for the boat to the Phi Phi islands. It was a two hour long journey by boat but my word was it worth it; the views, cliffs and scenery, was just like that on the postcards and it was sunny! We were so lucky with the weather. From what we had heard from travellers in Bangkok it was horrid weather, but we've had nothing but sun! We took a kayak to a derelict island called Monkey Bay where the sand was as white as white can be and the scenery was stunning, a definite highlight of the island. We even trecked to the view point where the two bays could be seen from a distance. With all the ups, we've also had our downs, and possibly the first downs I've had….Bedbugs! Since coming out to Asia I have slept in 30 odd different beds yet I get bedbugs during my last month! The worst thing about it is that due to my sensitive skin things affect me more than they should; so covered in bed bug rashes didn't go down well. However, when I was in a coffee bar (now my favourite spot on the island) a local lady, now my Thai mum, immediately gave me a local remedy; it eased them really well bless her! One of the things I noticed on the island is how hard it was to get western objects. For Jordan's birthday all I wanted were a few balloons, wrapping paper, candles, a card and banner; I only got two of the them. Still I think she loved it though! On Phi Phi there are no cars or motorbikes just cycles, everything is imported onto the island…… so I guess I will let them off this time ha! The nightlife was crazy on the island, from fire skipping ropes to fire limbo on the beach; every other person we saw had a drunken injury of some description. There were beanbags on the beach, make your own bucket shops and insane locals playing with fire. Definitely not what I was expecting from the island but it was great!

So it was bye to Phi Phi and hello to an eight hour journey, two boats and one bus, to Koh Samui.
