The London 2012 Olympics have begun. I watched the opening ceremony on Nick's laptop from a downloaded torrent on Saturday 27th at 11pm (a day late) in Koh Samui, Thailand after a traditional English meal of 'bangers and mash' (my first in six months!). Seeing Big Ben pop up on the screen made me feel a million miles away; which I guess I am. As the ceremony was slowly revealed I imagined and pictured what certain people back home would be saying infront of the TV and to each other (just a few…), for a start dad would be saying (as the little boy sang) 'did you know I used to be a choir boy?' James would be eyeing the main girl who loses her phone and thinking about how good the girls volleyball will be. Nan and mum would be admiring queenies outfit and talking about how clever it is. Grandpops would be asleep (hehe I'm joking) he would be talking through a brief history of England for everybody. Will would be in hysterics at the fact queenie just parachuted out the helicopter with James Bond. Georgina would be rapping to Dizzie whilst Uncle Stephen would be naming the famous artists from each song playing and Julia would be loving listening to the London orchestra. I may be wrong. So I may be a long way away from England (apparently 24 hours according to how long my journeys going to take on my return). I may have given up my ticket for the gymnastics to extend my stay here but I have my Olympic schedule at hand and I am loving it already! …..And to think I'll be back home on the closing ceremony day!
