Once we got to Rotorua all of us (louise, tom andrew and alex) went up on a gondola which had amazing views over the lake and the town. Once up there we all did a bungey swing. Me and Louise went first, you basicly sit in this cirular thing and then get hoisted up REALLY high overlooking all the views. You then have to pull a bit of rope and then plumett down at 150kph and swing right out over the edge of the cliff hill face! Screamed really loud but it was wicked fun! After the guys had done that we then did Luge which is a bit like go karting but all downhill and then you get a chair lift back up. Was really good fun racing everyone down, i think i was the slowest though! In the evening me and Alex and loads of others off the bus went to a Maori cultural night in an orginal maori village. Got a bus there and learnt maori greetings on the way, touching noses! and saying KEE ORA really loud. Once there they maori people all dressed up did the wero, a challenge and the powhin the welcome cereomony. 4 chiefs where chosen off the buses and they all stood in a line while these maori guys danced around and pulled funny faces at then holding spears!! Was very random but funny to watch. The big boss guy was huge and standing at the top of one of the huts yelling and poking his tongue out, looked really scary!! After the ceremony we walked around the village where they had loads of huts with people doing carving and craft. Really felt like you were going back in time to how it was. The concert came next with lots of singing and dancing and of course the Haka!! The evening was finished with a huge dinner that had been cooked by coals under the ground. Really good food and brill night. The driver on the way home sang all the national anthems and generally just went a bit crazy! hotting the horn and driving round in circles!! Back at the hostel met up with the others had had drinks and played pool.
Next morning went to Te Puia thermal park. Saw the famous bubbling mud and hot pools with water bursting out the top caused by the thermal activity in the ground. Was cool to see but did smell a bit funny! Also saw kiwi birds there and a maori village. After that the bus headed on to Waitamo and I jumped off to see Gwennie!!
