On the way to Queenstown we stopped off at the bungy jumping place and watched Andrew through himself off the bridge. it is where the first ever commercial bungey took place. Really gorgeous surroundings though over a river. It looked sooo scary but nevertheless me n Louise booked a tandum one for another day!!! aaahhhh!
After that we got to our hostel and looked around the town which is so cool, could live here! In the eve had a really big night at altitude bar and then world bar for the famous teapot cocktails.
The next day we went on the internet and chilled out before another big night as Tom and Andrew leave tomora to go to Christchurch. The six of us went out for a curry first and then onto the same bars later! Went to bed about 5am!
Saw the boys off in the morning and then went back to bed!! In the afternoon me louise and Alex went on the shotover jet boat ride which was awesome! It goes really quick through tiny cannons nearly hitting the rocks and doing 360 degree turns. Got soaked too! In the eve we somehow went out again cause it was St Paddys day! Had a bit of fun with the facepaint, i had 15% irish on one arm and 85% essex on the other!!
Lie in the next morning and the the afternoon was BUNGEY!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH leave in a bit to do it! slightly scared......The jump was soooooo cool!!! Went off the Kawara Bridge which is a really old historical one and 43 m high! Was the scarist thing having to shuffle your way to the edge of this little legde with your legs tied together! When I first stood up my legs wouldnt move cause my brain was telling me that this really wasn't the right thing to be doing! Kept saying to Louise that I couldn't do it then she started to say the same thing when i'd convinced myself too. The girl counted to 5 n we jumped both facing forwrds with our arms around each other and the outside arm straight in the air like superman! Was the best feeling ever, really hard to describe, would defo do another one! Got the DVD so you can all watch it when im back! That evening we had a quiet one, in need of recovery Queenstown in crazy!!
The final day we were up at 530am to go to Milford Sounds. Was a long drive about 4hours to get there, but stopped in a nice little town on the way and at some waterfalls and mirror lakes and mountains where Lord of the Rings did some shots. Was amazing drive through the mountains, loads of wateralls everywhere because it was raining. When we arrived in Milford we did a 2hour boat cruise through the fjeuds (not sure how to spell that) which was stunning. The boat driver drove into all the wateralls and the crazy japenese tourists stood out the front and got soaked!! Too cold for me to do that!! Aslo stopped off at a underwater observatory and saw lots of fish. On the boat on the way back we saw a pod of dolphins too playing around the boat. Really lovely to see dolphins again, wasnt expecting it! On the way home we stopped at saw the famous NZ parrot bird, ive forgotten their names, they have really bright colours on the inside of the wings but are quite nasty little things, tried to peck holes in the roof!
That eveing me and Louise went to a pub called Dux de lux which had a loving big open fire. We then went back to Altitude to met Ben and Alex and ran into Greg who was the driver being trained on the first bit of our trip! He is now on his own bus! Was really cool to see him. Watched the boys sing karoke and went to World bar after that. Finished the last night in Queenstown with a ferg burger, officially the best burger in the world! Think i need a month to recover from this town!!!!! Sweet as....
