Hi All,
Just a quick one as we need to check out in a bit, then will be doing some sightseeing before we head off to Chiang Mai on an overnight bus.
As this is our 2nd time in Bangkok we didn't have much that we wanted to do or see as we did a lot of it last time. Our main priority was to catch up on sleep, as the last couple of weeks have been mega busy, and to plan our travels through Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. We have pretty much done that now, so have a gander at the updated Itinerary if you are interested.
Our Guest house is lovely and even though it is on the same road that Koh San Road runs off it appears to be difficult to find, so far we haven't had a Tuk Tuk or taxi driver who has been able to find it. Nightmare. Luckily though, a lot of things are within walking distance so we have been getting our sweat on and walking nearly everywhere. We have been fully abusing the Pad Thai and awesome food, had some spicy Wai Wai noodles yesterday with chicken, they were lush.
This afternoon we are off to see The Grand Palace & Wat Phra Kaeo these were two places we wanted to go back and see, we did try to go yesterday but Matt got told his shorts were too short, despite covering his knees. You have to make sure your shoulders and knees are covered.
We are then getting picked up at 5.30pm for a 10 hour bus journey to Chiang Mai (Northern Thailand) we have 3 nights there where we will probably do a cookery course for a day and see lots of temples & explore. We loved Chiang Mai last time so fingers crossed it's as good as we remember. From there we are getting a slow boat down the Mekong into Laos finishing at Luang Prabang, so we should be there on Friday.
I've been bitten already, honestly bugs love me. They are huge, so going to get some Tiger Balm today. Matt hasn't got one the jammy git.
I've got no idea if we have wifi or anything in Chiang Mai, but we will update you soon.
Lots of Love Carly & Matt x x
