Jambo!! :D haha! thats the first swahili word i've learned. I have the 'Tourist guide to SIMPLE SWAHILI' book - each new word definitely knocks another one out... once I get a better hand og the language I know this will bridge some difficult gaps. I'll keep at it.
The journey from Nairobi to Nakuru was a class one! Just me Andrew and David (guy who picked me up from the arport) in the car, and it started off as any road trip should - with a flat tyre - it was a laugh tho... seeing the innovative way in which they removed the tyre from the rim. We got our first glance at gazelles and zebras!! :D And we took 15 mins to stop off and drop our jaws at the increadible view across the Rift Valley - we were on one side of the mountains that tower over either side of a huge expance of completely flat land. We also got views of the mountains some of which are volcanic and occasionally let a bit of smoke out. At this point, a few side-road vendors jumped to the opportunity to give us information on the Valley - subtly, or not, introducing props - which of course we were supposed to pay for. I got myself a little Lion carving ;)
First day of building went well... got there of the back of a bike! :D ill tell you more of that later... I fgotta go get some beers!
Till next time.................
xXx
