Heeeey! Sorry If a couple of my last blogs have been repeated - sometimes the internet fails and then re-sends the post. And then I think i sent another one or something... along those lines.... meh.... :P
But this blog has to talk about waaay too much as I haven't been on in a couple of days. We've now finished (for now) at the Pengani Primary School, where I was helping to building the foundations of a new special needs building. On Monday we're going to move on to help fixed and re-build some of the shacks that families are living in, in Hilton, London, just outside of Nakuru town. I visited there a few days ago - It was mind blowing. I know Ive already done so - but it was like stepping into another world...again. What struck me was the very friendly and accomodating attitude of the people towards us. Although this was definitely partyly because we were 'muzungus' (white people) and our faces literally project our wealth to them, it was also heartfelt - as we were invited into one home, a 3 by 4 room which housed a family of 8, the woman told us how honoured she was to be able invite in the people who built it.. We took some time to walk around the slum, constantly being chased by kids around 6 years old, all wanting to have their hands held - constantly repeating 'how are you'.. 'how are you' - which is now drilled into my head! :P
Yestersday - Safari - absolutely insane!! :D I dont know how far up the scale of great safaris Lake Nakuru National Park comes, but for my first time - I'll never forget it - especially not with the amount of photos I got. We saw flamingos, Buffalo, a lazy Rhino, Baboons and even a hyena! - which we almost missed. The vies from 'Bamboo Cliff' where incredible - so lucky we had a perfect clear day!
Eeerrr - I could go and be seriously descriptive - but I'm now gunna attempt to upload some photos - hopefully that'll finish off the story! :D
