Ben and Marie's American Road Trip
Today we woke up and ate the free breakfast that came with the room, made our own pancakes, had fruit loops and made a tea with vanilla creamer, wouldn't recommend it either. So we set off for Minneapolis, again filling up for petrol at a gas station that wouldn't accept my card, it was becoming a regular occurrence. The journey was a long one, but we checked into our first camp site in Maple Grove, a KOA one, and the couple who ran it were lovely. We checked in and then drove into Minneapolis to the Mall of America. It is the US' largest Mall and we had never seen anything like it, Nickelodeon Universe, a theme park in the middle meant it was big enough, but adding to that 520 shops and 50 restaurants tipped the scale even further. We rode on the Fairly Odd Coaster, shopped in Forever 21 and Lidz, then ate Chipotle for dinner. We had a photo as Forrest Gump, went into the Disney Store, and even Legoland. The place was huge!! We then left to return to the camp site, which took around an hour due to the fact that we chose to leave during a blizzard which I can only imagine would look at home in the Arctic. However, we made it, and the snow was actually quite pretty, once we had finished driving it in. Plus it was our first night staying in the car, so we got all the blankets together, put all the suitcases in the front and got comfortable.
