Today we planned on going to the beach but the weather wasn't that great, so we decided to go and see the biggest Buddha in the world instead…. As you do!
We got the tube there, then queued for 2 and a half hours to get a cable car up a few mountains where the Buddha was placed. We have had to queue for almost everything here…. There are way too many people in this place!
As we got closer we saw how huge this statue is!......maaaahooosive! ( we've had a few beers so bear with us! ) There is not much else to say about that…. Have a look at the pics!
When it was time to get the cable car home we realised the queue said 75 mins ( from experience we knew this would be longer ) and thought naaaaa! We asked someone how long it would take to trek along the 5.8km trail up and over the 3 mountains, back down to civilisation! We were told it would take 3 to 4 hours! It was half 5 at this point and thought if we proper went for it we could do it in a couple hours before it went dark….
So we started jogging but that didn't last long. We then thought we would jog downhill and walk uphill, but that didn't last long either as we underestimated how steep it really was! It was much harder than first thought….and Tim was struggling the most, but with Lloyd and Bens help, never gave up and we made it to the end….in 1 hr and 10 mins! It got dark towards the end but luckily we had a torch….thanks Dawn/Mummy!
3 to 4 hours my arse! - and it could have been quicker but Tim needed a few breathers, which Ben and Lloyd appreciated so they could take in the views ;)
We are now sitting in an Irish Bar having a well deserved fewwwww beers! ( you are lucky to be reading this as our tablet has crashed twice, and we have had to write this 3 times!!!! )
On to the next day….
