Today was the day of my bungy jump from Kawarau Bridge just 20 minutes from Queenstown centre. Sheona was winding me up for ages about it, so to begin with I was laughing it off and gradually as the event grew nearer I was a getting a wee bit nervous. I'd heard that some people can have a fear-induced-accident with their bowel movements, so I had a few trips to the toilet at the bungy centre beforehand (The couple of beers the night-afore hadn't helped either). After said passing action, I walked out onto the bridge where you shuffled out onto a wee platform and some guys fastened my feet together. Then out a bit further and you could choose to get wet or not. As you can see from the video I went into the river about shoulder depth. So as you stand outon the platform you have to give everyone a wee wave and then the guys count down. Its one of those moments where if you decide to do it, you've got to do it there and then. You can imagine my panic then as the guys counted "3-2-1... NO, WAIT!"! I'm sure they were just winding me up but by that time I had jumped. The rush of the ground coming toward me was amazing, and before you knew it you were in the water and then bouncing around! It was just a brilliant feeling, I really enjoyed it and can recommend it to everyone.
After the high of the Bungy I discoverd Speights Pale Ale at the local Speights Ale House. I also discovered that they showed the cricket, with England doing rather well. Sweet bro.
