Well it's our last day in Byron Bay today so we thought we'd update the journel. Can't believe we are leaving here already, but time flys!
Byron Bay is a little town with a gorgeous beach. The beach isn't like some of the others we have been to (white sand, palm trees etc) but is beautiful in a rugged way. We've had a few days chilling out on the beach and resting before we get to Sydney which is going to be hectic with lots of sightseeing again. We also wanted to top up our tans before we move down to Sydney as it's going to start getting colder as we move further south.
We stayed in a lovely apartment which had it's on kitchenette so we could cook our own meals, a living area and balcony and a bedroom upstairs but the best bit of all was the bathroom had a spa bath so we've had a bit of luxury for the last few days!
Byron Bay is a really hippy place with lots of craft shops and alternative therapies available. We went to the local market on Sunday which was full of unwashed, barefoot hippies which Ben hated! Was quite an experience though!
The most exciting thing that's happened here is Ben's skydive. He was lucky to do it on the clearest morning we've had so far. There were no clouds and it was really nice and sunny so Ben got some great views of the coast and the surrounding area. Ben said the instructor pointed out various landmarks like the Byron Bay lighthouse whilst he was falling through the air at 200 km an hour! In case you were wondering, I was safely on firm ground ready to take pictures of the landing! Ben did the highest skydive in Australia which means that you get to freefall for 70 seconds. He says it's the best thing he's ever done and wanted to go straight back up and do it again! He would have if it wasn't so expensive!
Anyway, we move onto Sydney next and I'm sure they'll be plenty of stories to tell from there!
