Firstly thanks to everyone who has sent us emails, its nice to hear from home and we are glad you are enjoying our photos.Nice is a very large town on the French Riviera. It is a bit dirty and there are lots of road works going on, which makes it hard to get back to our hotel. It only takes about 6 or 7 minutes to walk to the beach, which is all rocks. There are little patches of sand but I think it must be imported.
After programming Basil we headed off on a circuit around the back of Nice. First stop was Saint Paul de Vence. This was a magical place. A medieval walled city a bit like Mont St Michel but not as touristy. Next was Tourettes Sur Loup, lots of swearing went on there! Another beautiful stop right on top of the mountain with superb views. Along the way we found a waterfall called Cascades saut du loup. It was nice to see some natural beauty for a change. After that was an artists colony called Gourdan. These places were all gorgeous and a highlight of my trip, especially Saint Paul De Vence. Last stop was the perfume factory Moulinard at Grasse. Didn't we smell beautiful after testing all the fragrances.
