We went to the St Marks Basilica this morning. It is a huge church with lots and lots of gold everywhere. All of the ceilings are mosaics in gold. We then left Venice. We caught a water taxi to the train station then we caught a train to Florence. The train was really fast (up to 300km/hr) and went through some really long tunnels. It took 2hrs to get from Venice to Florence.
Our hotel is really nice. We had snacks and drinks this afternoon and there are lots of nice places to get pastries and yummy sweets around here.
Tomorrow we are going to spend the day exploring the city of Florence and we are going to an art gallery.
