Packed up and on the bus into the Florence train station. Train to Rome running 10 minutes late, finally arrives and off we go. Train getting up to 248 kms per hour, bit faster than the good old Ballarat train. Arrive Rome and navigate our way to the apartment, about a 10-12 minute walk in the 35+ degree heat. Arrive safely and meet Simone who explains the keys, appliances and places to eat.

Settle in then go for a quick bite to eat at the corner pizzeria. After lunch we go for a wander with the Colosseum 10 minutes walk away we head that way. Fantastic to be so close to the main sights.

Into the supermarket for a few supplies, ie breakfast and tea bags which are in a shortage here in Italy. Then a bit of web time to book a segway tour and an underground Colosseum tour. Time for a red wine then sleep before exploring more tomorrow.
