Well our first day on our Kiwi bus was cold and very wet. The worst rain I had seen for ages and it was just freezing. We had imagined it to be the same as Oz but were sadly dissapointed. As we arrived in Kaikoura, because of the rain we drove to the seal colony which was cool but very wet still. The driver also took us to the supermarket so we didnt have to walk in the rain which was nice.

The hostel there was called 'The Lazy Shag' and was really nice. Our room was nice, bid comfy bed but oh my gosh it was just freezing, we had the radiators on full. Gareth was in our room and had been on the same flight so we were all shatterd and as there was not much to do with the rain we all slept for the afternoon.

When we eventually woke up we made tea and headed down to some local bar. It was called Straberry Tree and had live almost hilbilly music. The bar reminded me of something from the german market all wooden and covered in old pictures and just really random things, We had a few drinks in there which was fun then headed off to bed about 2.

Thats Kaikoura, very small town and not much to do!
