I arrived in Singapore on Friday night and found a hotel in Chinatown. A very nice feel to Singapore and even amazed when arrive at the airport free internet terminals. Heathrow take note! After grabbing a quick bite to eat relaxed in the hotel and watched a movie. Up very early on Saturday morning to water pouring out of my room light. Gotta to love the joys of local hotels! Now onto the tourist bit and sightseeing in the city, might even do a bit of shopping! On sunday went to the island of Sentosa which was really like a run down theme park and apparently the locals say it stands for "So expensive and nothing to see!" I might be inclined to agree with them! Then went to Raffles Hotel for afternoon tea. Very nice and visited the bar where they invented Singapore Slings, thought would be rude not to try one. In the evening we went to a local karaoke bar. Even lucky enough to see Tony Blair as he arrived in Singapore to support London's bid for the games. All been happening in Singapore this weekend!
