Today has seen me go to Queens park, the southland museum, bluff and oreti beach. It has been fantastic weather, with clear skies and sunshine.
Queens park was gorgeous and the grass was covered in frost. We don't do park's like they do here in NZ as there was animals, gardens, cafe as well as a play area.
Following the park I went to the Southland Museum which is the only place to have a display of the tutara - lizard like creatures. It also had some artwork and other normal museum stuff in. I then hit the cafe for a good old cup of tea and slice of carrot cake to warm myself up as it is freezing.
I then drove to Bluff this afternoon, and made it up to the bluff hill viewing point. It was a steep drive and I don't know how fat people manage in their car but it was worth it. The view was spectacular. I then made my way back down and to Oreti Beach. It is where some of the worlds fastest Indian was filmed. Well worth the visit and had a nice stroll along the beach, dodging mopeds and bikes. It was also not windy, which I think has to be a first for any beach I have been on. It was also bizarre parking the car on the beach.
I am thoroughly shattered after a busy day in the fresh air so will be getting an early night so that I can be up bright and early to make my way to queens town where I have booked myself in for snowboarding for the day. Should be good just means an early start. Will sign of now as I need to try and find out if reception can print off my booking info for tomorrow and what I need to do about an early check out. No rest even on holiday!
