So today I went and picked up my car for the travels that commence tomorrow. It is a lovely silver Sirion. It is dead nippy as it's a 1.3 which I am not use to due to my car back in the uk only being a 1.1.
After going with Helen to a shopping mall for her to pick up a few things we then came back ate lunch for strength to then enjoy the challenge of putting snow chains on. Due to it being a legality to have to be carrying a pair down in the south of the island. Let's just say it's stupid that it is a legality for snow chains and not for insurance - the kiwi's are backwards sometimes.
It was like a crystal maze challenge and after several attempts, a few kicks of the wheel I managed to get one on the front tyre. We had to laugh at the slogan on the bag for them as they claimed a) to be easyfit and b) no hassle, no sweat! Well I beg to differ, so I am praying that I don't need them but if I do I am not putting them on but getting someone else to put them on for me!
I managed to get all my provisions for my trip and so hopefully won't need to get any more food only a few bits. The boy's were out watching the new A-Team film with other dad's and lads from football so me and Helen enjoyed a quiet night in watching a DVD.
Pete is going to get up and watch the new zealand world cup match tonight, which is mental but then again he is from southshields! I am off to Dunedin tomorrow, so packing up is required and I will fill you in on the travels.
