Day 3:
Started out by catching les rouge bus to the opera district, which is now my favorite part of Paris. Its beautiful. We wandered thru gallery lafayette, a huge department store full of every imaginable brand label ... Chanel, gucci, Prada, Louis vuitton, Tiffany and heaps more. Bought a gorgeous bracelet at Lafayette, and then found clothes shop called H&M and bought 2 dresses, a top, ballet slippers and a belt for €99. was so much fun.
The deli in Lafayette was mind blowing. The food was presented so beautifully and the choice was unbelievable.
Then we went into opera de musique (the opera house) and we were completely awestruck. This place is gorgeous. Massive marble staircases with huge candelabras and chandeliers. The main room was covered in gold and pictures inlaid into the ceiling. Mum was getting a bit overwhelmed and ready. This was her dream to be standing in a room just like this taking in every detail, getting very inspired.
from the opera house we caught the bus to the champs élysées. Went past the ritz hotel where lady Di stayed and past the tunnel where she died.
Shopping on the champs elysee is very commercial and sooo busy. The arc de triomphe is massive and imposing at the end if the street. And we walked the whole street ending at the grand palais. Had to run across the street while we were waiting for the bus to get photos on pont Alexandre bridge. The gorgeous cherub street posts and gold topped pillars are beautiful.
Then got the bus back to the Eiffel tower and had crepes for dinner in the park overlooking the tower. I never get sick of seeing it. Taxi back to hotel room and our window was open. Mum looks out the window and says hey look our here ... We've been here for 2 days and just realized we have the mist amazing view of Eiffel tower from our room. At 8:00 it was still light but the lights had turned out. It looked more illuminated by 9:00 and it started twinkling at 10:00. So beautiful. By thus time it was finally dark and we were deliriously tired, so we went to bed. Good night.
