So everyone (esp those who have complained oh so much...LOL) we've remembered how to type and think we're practically up-to date now! We've spent our last 2 days in thailand on khaosan road (backpacker district) and loved it! Bars, restaurants, and shops packed in all down the road! Had a really good nights sleep at homestay and enjoyed it soooo much more than i thought i would (had been dreading it!) Was definately the best part!! The next morning we had aanother bicycle tour this time around the homestay village! The scenery was really pretty and what we expected to see in northern thailand-rice paddies, workers with those funny hats, cattle etc... We left Lampang and the next morning travelled by songthaew to the elephant conservation centre. First of we watched an elephant show were the elephants introduced themselves by bowing and then performed various tricks and stunts. They could paint - although one of them was extremely reluctant to! and play drums and the xylophone and move logs around the stage. For the finale they played a song together which unfortunately the presenter ruined by singing...

So next morning we left sukhothai and got the public bus to lampang, this took 4 hours but buses were quite comfy so all was good! We were picked up by our new best friend the songthaew when we arrived in lampang and taken to our guesthouse. Wasn't dreading this one as much as didn't really think it could get any worse than the previous 2 nights (saying that we didnt sleep too bad) but it was!!!
