decided to give brisbane a miss as it was just another large city with not a whole lot to do and i wanted to gain an extra two days in coogee with my friends before going back home...arrived in surfers paradise and instantly felt like i was in a mix of myrtle beach and miami...nice beach with huge skyscrapers right on the coastline...did some shopping and walking around the first day. stayed in a room with some nice british guys (dom, james and dave) who we decided to join out along cavill avenue for the night for some drinks...within 2 hours, saw 7 people arrested for fighting...fighting with the cops! when the biting began and pepper spary was pulled out, we decided to call it a night. the next day, claire and i went to dreamworld and whitewater...2 theme parks right next to each other where you could go back and forth between the two. conquered dreamworld within about 2 hours and spent most of the day at the water park...such a good time! i forgot how tiring those places can be...which is why we decided to do nothing that night...since the bus did not leave til late the next afternoon for byron bay, we had a nice day lounging by the pool and topping up our tans.
