So, this morning at 7:30 am we passed the Arctic circle. There was an island with a globe on that marked the spot
but we didn't see it because it was on the opposite side to our cabin. ( I am rubbish with port and starboard)
We continued on to a town called Bodo. It is quite a large place and has a population of over 20 thousand people. Had a
nice walk around the town, visited the museum and the cathedral. Bodo was completely rebuilt after the second world war because
the nazi's bombed it and it burnt to the ground in 1940.
The museum was ace..only criticism would be that there were no English signs explaining what the things on show were.
We left Bodo at 3pm Norway time only to be told that our trip tonight where we were going to have a Viking feast has been
cancelled. That is 2 out of 2 excursions cancelled now...doh!!
This time it is because it is going to be so rough, they decided to miss out the Lofoten Island stop completely. So now, as
i type in fact, we are heading on to Harstad. Should arrive about midnight....and it is VERY rough already! Some people
are not going to be well, I suspect.
The rough sea doesn't worry me at all.....just makes me feel sleepy!
Check out the slideshows I have posted too.
