Third day at Sea. (somewhere off the coast of Morocco)We are now roughly off the coast of Africa and the weather is certainly warming up nicely. The sea right now is like a pond, very very calm with hardly any noticable movement.
This morning saw round two of the indoor cricket nets game we invented and Gary was allowed to join us again. David won this time but only just and I came in third....out of three. The bat we have to use is about 200 years old and made from lead and It is like swinging a tree trunk around. I am at an obvious strength disadvantage. (That is my excuse and I am sticking to it)
.Gary left David and I to play basketball where again I was beaten in the one on one but very much the winner on the shoot out game. It seems the further away I shoot from, the better I get.
We have played a few trivias today and seem to be getting good scores but still end up being
beaten by excellent scores. We finished one a few minutes ago where we got 17/20 but, yet again, the winners got 20/20. Swots...David, Gary and I all went to the gym again and Barbara joined us!
When I say joined us....I mean she sat on one of the machines and watched us working out. I did get her onto the treadmill at one point to do a little walking but she frightened me half to death because she kept stopping whilst the belt continued.
Gary managed to get a free massage from the lotus spa and said that they really helped ease his stiff neck. His neck is stiff because he is swinging around that lead cricket bat every morning with us....
.Whilst David and I messed around in the pool and hot tubs, Gary entered a golf putting contest. I never really got out of him exactly where he finished but I know that he did not win. Booo!
Barbara has discovered that she loves going to the shops and the sales which often spring up during the cruises. So far she has bought a new watch and a new clutch bag. Gary keeps trying to usher her away from the stores and tries to make her do countless laps of the ships decks to occupy her time lol!
We all got together this afternoon and indulged in afternoon tea. This is held in one of the posher dining rooms but you don't have to dress up. You go as you are and then you are waited on, silver service like, with tea, coffee, tiny sandwiches and rolls and an amazing
selection of cakes.
David loves the little cakes and I like the scones with cream and jam...mmmz scones. It is a good job we are using the gym so much
Now all chilling out in our cabins, we will meet up again later for yet more trivia. The next one is something to do with the 50s and 60s so we might stand a chance....then there is a space trivia and I am very confident that David will ace that one.
Tomorrow is our first port of call, Las Palmas Grand Canarias. It should be a really good stop because we arrive early and the ship actually does not leave the port until 11pm....We don't often get to spend evenings at places so it will be a nice change.
We all love these sea days but are now looking forward to stepping on to dry land and doing some exploring. We have four stops one after the other before our next sea day so we are making the most of this rest.
Hope everyone is ok....next stop Las Palmas!
Miss you mummy!!
