Retired & Traveling
We made it! I was a little nervous going through passport control, but we breezed through with no problems. Collected our suitcase and met our driver to take us to the apartment. We shared the ride with a couple of Italian gals that were coming here for the weekend. They planned to spend all day at a spa--said it was cheaper to fly, stay over and eat out than get a spa treatment in Bologna! Our hostess met us outside the apartment and showed us around. It's HUGE!! Two bedrooms, large bath, dining room, kitchen...too bad no one is meeting us here! We are on the third floor, there's an elevator but it's tiny, and a little scary. I'll try to remember to take a picture. We saw a large restaurant as we were entering the apartment so we decided to give it a try. The menu was in English (as well as Romanian), so ordering was easy. The money here is called Lei, and is about 4 to 1 for US. We each had a large beer and two entrees and it was $25!! The food was excellent, too and the staff all spoke English. We will most likely be eating there again. We woke up to rain--first bad weather day in 6+ weeks, so no complaints. It's supposed to clear up and be pretty the rest of the time we're here.

Elisa Looks like its going to be a great adventure in Romania! The elevator looks similar to Allison's elevator in her first apartment in New York.
