Today was spent cruising along the Danube towards Vienna. We went through a lock that was way above us--way cooler than what we experienced going through the Panama Canal. I was a basket case most of the morning, waiting to hear about how the girls were doing with all the flooding in Houston. I finally got a text from Traci that said they had evacuated at 3:00 am with both girls and dogs to Matt's grandparent's house in knee deep water. :( Matt went back early this morning and checked their house and said at that moment, no water was inside. Praise God! Now if it would just stop raining!! Ashley sent an email saying she was one of the few lucky ones and didn't have any water coming in at all. Another hallelujah!! Praying that the rain stops soon.
We got to go into the control room of the ship and the captain gave us a demonstration of all the instruments. Very interesting how it all works, and we did learn that we MAY have to change ships in Passau due to low water levels. Hoping that doesn't happen.
We chilled out in the afternoon, had dinner and then left to go to a Mozart & Strauss concert in the city. Funny how we were just here 6 weeks ago and barely anything looked familiar! I was a bit disappointed that the venue for the concert was not in the Opera House--it was in some other concert hall--but it was a great concert and we enjoyed it.
Continued prayers for everyone back home. So difficult being so far away and helpless to do anything to help.

Barbara Rief Looks like you two are having the time of your life. I've so enjoyed reading about your travels and seeing the pictures. The Elderly Crossing picture is priceless. The food all looks yummy, but especially the fish and chips. My fav! Enjoy the rest of your time abroad. See you when you return.
