That's right, nothing to report. Nothing to see here, folks. Everybody go home.
My cold is getting worse. Now, I think I have a fever, albeit low-grade. (Have you ever thought about the term "low-grade fever"? It sounds like your cold is second-rate, that, somehow, your cold isn't as good as everybody else's. I mean, really. If I’m going to have a cold, I don’t want any second-rate cold. I want the real thing, a champion cold. I want the cold-to-end-all-colds. I want…. Wait. What am I saying? NEVER MIND! I’ll keep this second-rate, run of the mill cold…. I’ve jinxed it, haven’t I.)
I caught a glimpse of the grocery receipt from yesterday. I’m expecting a call from the mayor, thanking us for bolstering the local economy.
As I mentioned yesterday, we saw a witch trial Monday night. It was based on an actual trial that took place in 1706 Williamsburg. The people involved were actors (the ones Monday night, not the ones in 1706, at least, I assume not), and they all did an outstanding job. The script came from records of the time. It lasted about an hour, and, at the end, we were asked to vote guilty or not guilty. Barbara voted to acquit; I voted to HANG THE WITCH! The majority voted to acquit.
The records of the actual trial are incomplete, so there is no record of what happened to her. However, on further research, they found a death notice around 1740 for the woman who was on trial. Either she was acquitted, or she really was a witch, and they couldn’t execute her.
The witch trial (the one Monday night, not the one in 1706) was held in the Capitol Building in Colonial Williamsburg. We arrived at the visitors’ center and boarded a bus that took us to the Capitol Building. The evening was overcast and drizzly, so all we saw from the windows of the bus was rain and semi-darkness. The Capitol Building itself was impressive (sorry, no pictures—it was raining too much—but if we ever make it into Colonial Williamsburg, we’ll try to get a picture of it), but what we saw on the way back on the bus was rain and darkness. I can only conclude that Colonial Williamsburg is rainy and dark.
I’ve noticed that several of you have commented on my sickie selfie and about how I look like a bunny-rabbit. Well, I never! A bunny, indeed! I think I look more like a kangaroo. A kangaroo is noble, righteous, and admirable. Why, if a kangaroo were in the navy, he’d be the captain of the ship. You can call me Captain Kanga… never mind. A bunny is just fine.
Barbara bought me some movies to watch while I’m sick. One DVD had four movies on it. One was a junior-high freshman project (sorry, that’s insulting to junior-high freshman projects), another was a "Hey, gang! Let’s make our high school the BEST high school EVER!" movie, which starred Keanu Reeves. I only made it through about ten minutes of each of those. Another was a Chuck Norris movie (need I say more?), and the last one starred Dolph Lundgren and was directed by John Woo (I thought he was better than that).
Two others we haven’t seen, yet, but have promise. One is a Bruce Willis film, and the other is an animated comedy by the makers of Shrek (not too sure about how crude this one will be).
The last one was called, "A Haunted House” and starred Marlon Wayans. It was not funny and not scary, but it was crude (make that CRUDE). Actually, CRUDE doesn’t even begin to describe it. If you’d like to know more about this movie, google it, because I can’t talk about it. Of course, we both sat there and watched the whole thing.
Well, as I said, nothing to report today—only fever-induced ramblings. I’m going to read this entry in a couple of days and wonder, “Who wrote this? We must have been hacked.”

Pat Davis Makes you appreciate California. When traveling, we continually say, thank goodness we live in sunny warm beautiful CA.
Shannon I'm not surprised about the Marlon Wayans movie... aren't all of his movies crude? I just really don't like him & would have stayed away just knowing he was in it... you didn't name any of the other titles, so I can't comment on those...
