STATS
Departure: 9:55 AM, pdt, Winnemucca, NV
Time Change: Utah. Ahead 1 hr
Arrival: 6:00 PM, mdt, Salt Lake City, UT
Miles: 346.5 miles
Travel Time: 7 hrs.
The dog woke us up this morning at 4:30. Neither Barbara nor I could get back to sleep, so we decided to get up and get an early start on driving. By 5:00 a.m., we were dressed and having coffee and breakfast. At 9:50, we pulled out of the campground. If you're wondering what happened between 5:00 and 9:50, so are we.
As we set up camp in Salt Lake City, we heard a grinding sound while lowering the levelers. Those of you who've been with us a while may remember the leveler problem on our way home from Walt Disney World in 2013. Yup, another leveler broke. The last time it was the right rear leveler. This time, it's the right front. So we can't use the levelers. For the rest of this trip, I'm going to be walking up hill every time I want to go to the bathroom.

Belinda Curious... wouldn't it be a LOT cheaper, less hassle, and significantly more hair if you simply drove across country in a car and stayed in hotels? I've noticed that Bill seems to be losing more and more hair every time I see him in a picture...
Betsy Just watch the direction of the uphill peeing!Take care. In San Carlos til Wed. New renters moving in.
Patrick No, no, no. Hotels aint where it's at. Mechanical failures and the corresponding detective work, evaluation and solution making,,,,(solutioning?.....solutionisms?)....Problem Solving is 27.4% of the fun!!! Plus, I'll bet my entire paycheck from June of 1982, that when you start problem solving or repairing your rig in an RV lot, the "handiest" neighbors will shimmy out of the woodwork in droves like gophers to a pile of nuts, surrounding you with a plethora of "Yup's", "Oh My's", "Do you have AAA?", "I remember once when's....." and "Let me have a look-see", such that you'd have any problem solved in no less than 16-36 hours.
Julie Well, there is plenty of room at our table for dinner and a nosh if you can't take it anymore!
Trish Who needs a level RV anyway?! Just pretend you're on a ride at Disney World and enjoy the ups and downs....safe driving today!
Beth What's a leveler? :)
Rich Who needs a **** high tech load leveler anyway. Just stop by the nearest Pep Boys (I suggest them because David manages one of their shops) and buy a hydrolic jack. They come in four colors including black. Mine is blue.
