STATS
Comments:
We checked the weather forecast for the area westward, and high winds were predicted. Indeed, the RV was already being rocked by the wind, and we hadn’t left the site yet. We decided that it would be best to just hunker down and wait it out. The winds were only forecasted until 5:00 pm, so we expect that tomorrow it will be smoother sailing.
At around 5:30, we noticed that there was no wind anymore. Not sure exactly when it stopped, but we need to give credit to the meteorologist who predicted it to keep the weather gods happy.
(Please read the next line with your eyes looking skyward, which means you’ll probably need to hold your computer over your head. That’s not too hard if you have a laptop, but for those of you with a desktop or tower computer, you might want to just kneel instead.)
OH, GREAT METEOROLOGIST IN THE SKY! WE GIVE CREDIT TO YOU.
Okay, I think the weather gods are appeased. We’ll see how the weather holds for the rest of the trip home. Thanks for helping.
We went into downtown Las Cruces and bought some books at a used book store (just to clarify: it was a store full of used books, not a bookstore that was used—although, as I think about it, that was probably true, too; the building didn’t look very new). We also went out to lunch at a Mexican restaurant called Deliciosa and got serenaded by a Mariachi band.
Then back to the RV to wait to get back on the road again.
