Comments:
Today was a day of rest (and catching up on the blog). We just hung around the RV park all day and relaxed. Around 3:30, Laurel and Bob (Barbara’s sister and brother-in-law) showed up, and we went out to dinner in Wells, Vermont (we’re only about five miles from the state line). It’s Laurel’s birthday tomorrow, so we celebrated tonight. Barbara bought a cake and jazzed it up a bit. Lots of chocolate and raspberries. Very yummy.

Molli and their dog got along famously, after having a discussion about who would be in charge, of course. The conversation went something like this:

“Hi, what’s your name?”
“My name’s Dammit. What’s yours?”
“Mine’s Getthehelloffthecouch. Nice to meet you.”
“Why’s your human yelling at us?”
“No idea. Wait. There goes yours. What’s he saying?”
“I’m not sure, but I think I heard my name three or four times.”
“So, who you want to be alpha here, you or me? I’m good either way.”
“I’m kinda tired tonight. Why don’t you take it?”
“They’re yelling again. I don’t think they want us to talk to each other.”
“Well, that’s not very neighborly. Why can’t we talk? We’re just having a quiet conversation here.”
“Yeah, but I think we should shut up now. If we don’t, they’ll be yelling all night.”
“Okay. Nice talking to you.”
“Yeah. G’night.”

And what we heard:
“Grrrrr. Ruff. Ruff. Bark. Bark. Bark. Grrrrrrrrr.”

Very smart dogs. Not so sure about the people.
