There’s a highway (and I use the term loosely) in New Hampshire called the Kancamagus Highway that goes through the White Mountain National Forest. All the news we’ve been hearing is that the foliage is at or near peak in its color along that road. So, we found a campground in Bath, NH, and headed that way. Our intention is to stay there for three days to see the color and to go to Vermont to see Shelburne on the Western edge. Then, we’ll head back to Freeport, ME, and spend a little more time with Linda and Steve and Diane.
There are no major highways to Bath, so we saw a whole lot of back roads. The exciting part was that I only got lost once, and I was able to get back on track by going around the block (which was about a half mile out of our way, but a block nonetheless).

Shannon there's not as much "fall color" as i was expecting... but i do really like the sunny pictures with the dark clouds...
shannon wheres the road? or did you just find a field to park in, lol
wjmccain We're getting comments like we're still a bit early to see the peak color. Also we heard the hurricane dumped salt water on the leaves and they may not be very spectacular this year. In just a couple of days the colors have become more vivid. We'll see in the next week.
wjmccain The road is out in front of the car. Pretty nifty spot, eh?
Leigh Ann Did you see any moose?
Marge So glad to see the fall color in the pix. At last. I hope that you get to see a lot more. Thanks for the posts, I'm eager to read about every thing you're doing.
jpcarey85 is that your new golf cart?
Shannon Ack! I didn't even see the sign!! YAY FOR MOOSE!! I hope you guys saw one... i want to see a picture!!!! :D
Laura It looks like a beautiful and you're starting to see the colors!!
wjmccain No moose sitings yet. Apparently it would be pretty unusual to see them.
