Trees are turning color everywhere you look. But the Kancamagus has them in their splendor. The Kancamagus runs from Lincoln, NH, to Conway, NH, about 36 miles. If you have ever envisioned a tree-lined New England highway in spectacular color, this is the place. Red, orange, and yellow leaves abound. There are even some deep-reds that border on purple.
This is what we came for, and we weren’t disappointed.
We’ve decided that we don’t have time to go over to Shelburne tomorrow. Laurel (Barbara’s sister) and Bob are out here, too, seeing the Fall Color and will be here tomorrow to spend the evening visiting. We’ll probably come back to Shelburne next week.
Now, since we aren’t going to Shelburne, I guess we could have stayed closer to Conway, on the eastern side of the Kancamagus, which would have been closer to get back to Freeport.
Of course, we could have just stayed in Freeport for a few more days….
I’m retired. I no longer think straight.
