After a massive lie in, awoke to find our host has put on an amazing feast including cheese, bread, yoghurt, fruit, ham, juice, eggs...the works! Just what was needed for a day where we made a trip in to the 'spooky' Black Forest.
Up the windy roads we drove, passed the windfarm, and it got mistier and cooler until it was easy to forget that it was a warm sunny day at the bottom of the mountain.
We went for a walk through the trees to a lookout whilst Isabel told us some traditional fairytales about the forest (basically everyone is dead at the end). At the top the view was great but restricted so we imagined what the Alps might have looked like beyond the clouds in the distance.
In the evening we had fondu with some of Isabel's chums, who thought it hilarious to be eating it in May. Rounded the evening off with some schnapps and chat.
