What shall we do today? Let's go to France! Alrighty then.

Had the most marvellous spread for breakfast/lunch including a slice of real Black Forest Gateau - made with schnapps. This slice was as big as my head but I managed the lot :0) Then it was in the car and over the Rhine to Strasbourg (about an hour away).
Now if you get to see the cathedral in Freiburg and think it's big...which it is...then Strasbourg's is humongous!!! Ornate but not as interesting as Freiburg's. Freiburg wins the church competition - hurrah!
Strasbourg is pretty, lovely old buildings around the churches and waterways, lots of tourists and school groups, some crazies...had a hot chocolate in a cafe before getting some of the tastiest sandwiches from an Italian (French?) deli.
Then it was back to Germany and a sad farewell at the airport in Baden to Isabel, my fav German.
Flight was easy, Ryanair, no frills to Stansted, and an easy drive home. Tchuss (sp?) a fantastic trip.
