Here we are in sunny Melbourne, definately grounded after the fun and frolicks of New Zealand. Our second to last night went off with a bang, I think we managed to get in six clubs and pubs before the sun rose, again! Our flight was at 6am, what a struggle to get up at 3am and get out, somehow we managed it though. The flight was beautiful, we went right over mount cook and the lakes. We arrived in Melbourne hot and sweaty and eventually found Nick, the guy we are staying with. The area we are staying in is lovely, very classy though. In fact the whole of Melbourne is very much about looks and keeping fit. How scruffy do we feel in our camping cloths and beer bellies!!! The last few days have been spent looking for work as we are well and truley skint! It is pritty hard as no one wants to take on travellers as we can only work for 3 months. I have an interview with the catering company who deals with the common wealth games, so fingers crossed. The houses we have looked at so far have been really scummy, but we have time as the guy who's room we are staying is away another week. The house is wonderful, 1 floor, wood through out, really light and airy with all the mod cons. In fact Dave is probably lying on the sofa watching Sky stroking the crazy cat Rocket. Dave's new bestest bud. Really the cutest cat, it is very designer with hair that looks shaved and huge ears with a temperent like a dog. Nick is pritty cool too, I think he is happy that we are cooking him gormet meals every night and keeping the house clean. He is very chilled out and accomodating so we are very happy. Melbourne is a cool city. The suburbs are all very different, and the parks and area around the river are lovely. We have done the circuit of the centre many times now and have it under wraps, we might go uot to the beach today though. The public transport is brilliant, trams and trains which are really cheap. Yesterday we went to the art gallery to see the 60's Britain exhibition from the Tate, defintately worth a see when it is back in the UK.
