Watch out world the Barkers are coming!
Hey guys
Long time no do for me. So here goes.
We left Cairns on the 7th of July, sad to see the back of most of the people there, namely, Nathan the scouser, Jaime the souki LALA, Pete the Pirate, Dan the Welsh man, The kanooks Jen and Jaqs, Tony Pepperoni the gambler, Jen the Blackburnite, Henry hoffmiester, Andre the vodka swilling russian, Oscar the swedish brit and many many more new friends. Thanks for the times guys.
Sad to leave but glad to see the back of working for the next few months. So we flew to Melbourne for our last foray there, and i'm glad to say that all our friends tyurned out to see us and did us proud. Many thanks for yet another amazing night to Nick May, Nik T, Cam (good luck with the wedding man you deserve it), Immi (thanks for the lift and well donex), Steve and Amy (your great, good luck with everything), Daz and Lana (england til i die), and of course the ever crazy Jamie (good luck in China and forget revellers your better than that!).
Next up we flew to Perth, Where we proceeded to walk right past our family and think that they had forgotten us! eventually we all caught up and said our hellos to family we have never met before (strange but very nice experience). After Ashley racing Alan back to Charlies house (hahaha HOONS) we sat and had a beer with every one who made us feel very at ease and welcome. After that everyone went back to the Farm and El, Charlie and I cought up with everything thats been going on in our lives, whilst Charlie cooked an amazing steak and snag dinner. Next day we rose, not exactly early, to a lovely cooked breakfast and planned out our day. We went first to the Mundaring Weir which is a massive engineering feat and beautiful location, and then on to a camel farm up on the escarpment. then we travelled to Alan and Susies Farm were we had a lovely family BBQ and a tour of the massive amount of land they have. we also met the two dogs, Rupert and Axle, Daisy the cow, Paris and Ben the horses, and every other animal on the farm. Great fun all round.
Following day we went to Perth and had a walk round Kings park and a guided tour of Perth by Charlie. Perths a lovely little city, with lots of water in and around it, kind of like a very young and quiet Sydney with out the landmarks. The next day we went to Cottesloe, whilst Charlie attended the funeral of his friend, and walked to Free mantle (anyone who has been to Perth will know this is a bloody long way!) it turned out to be about 8 or 9 km's but was a very pleasant walk and was good for both of us. we then visited the docks and saw the place were Doris and Charlie first landed in Perth and there is a whole load of walls with the names of everyone who emmigrated by boat ,to Perth, a very touching tribute. The next day was spent With Charlie, Susie and Aaron at Hilarys harbour. A very nice little shopping centre come habour come beach area which i can imagine is heaving during the summer. We had a lovely day wondering round and eating fish and chips, then we went down to Scarborough and up to Mullaloo, some really nice beaches and some crappy little surf.
Our final day was spent on the farm with Alan, Susie, Aaron and Lauren. we went quad biking around the farm, caought lambs, with the expert help and guidance of Lauren and axle, watched Lauren riding the sheep, I shot a rifle at a can and missed loads, watched Alan shoot the big gun (what a noise!!!), Looked at the Motor bikes (oh i want one i do i do i do), saw our first Red back Spider (pathetic little thing really!) watched the moon come up and had a lovely family meal when Ashley got home. I'm sure i haven't conveyed what a great time we had with the Barkers of Australia, but it was brilliant to finally meet them and we had so much fun, we'd both like to thank them for the time they put aside for us and all the running around they did for us. Special thanks to charlie for letting us stay and his home and for being such an amazing host! We miss you guys and hope to see you all soon. P.S. Lauren your it, Can't get the butcher back!
OH i almost forgot. During our day on the Farm Aaron was showing us his Radio controlled Airplane, and whilst he was flying it an Eagle took a keen interest in it and started to dive and attack it, it soon got out flown by the future fighter pilot Aaron, and after lunch and a bit of battery recharging Aaron was back out flying, this time the Eagle had obviously brought in reinforcements, a much bigger Fan Tailed ealge which dwarfed the plane, the same started happening with swoops and some very good evasive manouvers by Aaron, but after being egged on by, of all people, hi mum!!! AAron started flying around the birds and we captured on video the moment that Aaron shot up and gave the Eagle a bloody good upper cut. Unfortunately the Plane came off worse and lost part of it's tail, the only way to get it to go up or down! So with tail lost and Eagles victorious, Aaron struggled to get his plane down and it crash landed at the far end of the paddock.
The Eagle Buster went down! After assesing the damage the wings were snapped the nose cone was shattered and he had to give up for the day.
Safe to say tat the Eagle buster will be back in the air soon and that eagle had better watch his back, cos Aaron Airlines is coming for ya!
Well after all that excitement it's off to te sedate and laid back Singapore. See you all in Asia!!!
