I can't believe it has been 9 days since I last had internet access!!!
We left Darwin and stayed at Mount Bundy Station for 2 nights. Some people in Lake Argyle had told dad all about it and it sounded great but when we got there it really wasn't anything special! Dad had hoped to see a working station but it wasn't anything like that. The victoria river show was on and although we missed the main part mum and dad went to the rodeo. Mum said it was unbelievable and couldn't believe that country people in the NT actually do dress like cowboys! The whole jeans and chequered shirts tucked in with a big belt and a big cowboy hat and boots. Men women and children of all ages were dressed like it! She said you could really spot the tourists in shorts Tshirts and thongs!
The next day we drove to Robin Falls which was not in a National park so I could go yay! We climbed to the top of the waterfall and I had a lovely swim and then another swim on the way back in another stream it was so much fun.
From Mount Bundy we drove to Litchfield Tourist Park right on the boarder of the Litchfield National park. Mum said this was the best part of the whole trip so far. The surrounding bush resembles the scrub around York and Northam but with spindly ghost gums and dry grass but instead of blackboys there are these palm plants everywhere. And then after parking up the car and walking into a lush greener area there are these unexpected amazing waterfalls with pools at the bottom.
the water in the streams and pools are so clear you can see the bottom but the most surprising thing for mum and dad was that the water was warm!! Even in the biggest pool at Wangi falls was warm! Mum and dad swam over to the waterfall and climbed up a rock face to a little pool with a small waterfall that was as warm as a bath. Ahh I wish I could have seen it but of course it is a national park and I am not allowed in it L we stayed at Litchfield until the parts for the car arrived and then we ducked back into Darwin and picked them up. Mum did some shopping and then we packed up and headed to Katherine yesterday. Mum said she wants to go back to Litchfield without me!!!! How mean!! She wants to do all the walks and camp in the national park but I think she is being a bit selfish.
